Grandkids Day #1

I apologize in advance for the lousy iPhone photos.
Wren and Dakota arrived Saturday evening. They traveled by themselves from Boise to Phoenix.
After a burrito dinner in Tempe, we headed up the hill to Payson.
We had a quick game of Wii and then they took stock of grandma's lego, Star Wars and transformer collection (Thank you Ryan and Jacob!), then headed for bed.....a long day.

Wren got up at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday! (I think grandma and grandpa are going to have to make some rules about staying in bed and reading until at least 5:30.) We messed around with the iPads and computers in the morning. (Wren has been saving for an iPad.....I think he has enough money now.)

We saw Turbo on Sunday afternoon...cute movie.

Then headed to Scoops Ice Cream Shop.....

Wren had Peaches and Cream.

Dakota had Birthday Cake. Which included frosting, cake and sprinkles as well as ice cream. (Sorry, mom and dad!)

Then grandpa made some dog biscuit dough and the boys cut out biscuits for Argo and Cooper. We all tasted them (oats, whole wheat flour, dry milk, oatmeal, parsley)......not bad.

The boys got really good with the bone cookie cutters.

Argo camped out by the oven. He thought they smelled delicious!

We went to the community college trail in the early evening to run the dogs. Wren found some tadpoles in the pond.

The dogs loved following the boys. We had stick guns and pine cone bombs. What fun! Watch out, Grandma! Incoming!

Dakota had a base below the hill and Wren (and Argo) had a base on top.

We picked up a pizza on the way home and then climbed on the rocks in the "backyard."

Dakota is quite a climber! Bath/shower time and then a movie or board game.
