South Facing Deck

The guys spent yesterday working on the deck that faces the south. It looks strong enough to hold a herd of elephants.

It needs to be strong enough to support 18,000 pounds of concrete tiles. (I wonder how much it is going to cost to ship those tiles??)

Half of this deck will be covered to protect us from the summer sunshine. We plan on putting two skylights in it and we will have fans mounted under the roof.

Pat is preparing a post to set on top of the piers that will support the roof.
