I'm a retired educator (teacher/principal) who moved from Northern California to Payson, Arizona in September, 2010.
This blog will chronicle my adventures as I explore a different ecosystem and build my new home.

Where is Payson?

The visitors' guide says that Payson is one of Arizona's jewels, located at the base of the Majestic Mogollon (pronounced Muggy-yohn) Rim. Payson offers travelers access to hundreds of miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. One can drop a line in any of the trout streams or lakes or just relax and enjoy a beautiful sunset.
Payson is surrounded by the largest stand of Ponderosa Pine Forest in the world, and is a year-round outdoor lover's paradise. Payson hosts the World's Oldest Continuous Rodeo annually in August. The city is 75 miles from Phoenix and 20 degrees cooler.
